Civil Engineering Internship - Public Works

The Civil Engineering Intern position will support project teams in our Real Estate and Land Development market. 

Responsibilities: 

• Provide assistance to Public Works engineering team for delivering design (PS&E) and Construction Management (CM) services


• Offer support to senior engineers by utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D and understanding plan interpretations


• Provide project support by assisting in drafting documents, engineer’s opinion of probable costs, project schedules, and utility computations


• Conduct on-site field inspections of municipal construction projects


• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents to support contractor compliance


• Assist with construction contract administration by drafting, reviewing, and completing meeting minutes, bid tabulations, pay estimates, force account, field note records, as-built plan redlines, and other related deliverables


• Communicate with the Project Manager and Team Leader on workload status to meet designated chargeability goals

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University


• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, interpersonal, and analytical skills


• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 


• Entry-level experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam software is highly preferred


• Proven ability to work well both within a team and independently


• Must have reliable transportation and flexible schedule to work contractor hours including night work (if required)


• Previous construction/inspection experience and jobsite safety training is a plus

Our standard intern pay rates range from $17-$25 per hour.
