About Us Discovery Ranch South dedicated to supporting adolescents through evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health and behavioral health services. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to help youth build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful change.
Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Clinical Intern to join our adolescent treatment team. This internship provides hands-on experience delivering therapeutic services to adolescents ages 13 - 17, under the supervision of licensed clinicians. Interns will gain exposure to a variety of modalities, including individual therapy, family therapy, and group interventions.
Responsibilities
Provide individual, group, and family sessions under licensed supervision
Conduct intake assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and treatment planning
Co-facilitate evidence-based groups (e.g., DBT skills, CBT, emotional regulation, substance use education)
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Participate in weekly supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings
Support crisis intervention efforts in accordance with program protocols
Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and community partners as needed
Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality laws, and trauma-informed care practices
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
Eligible for clinical internship/practicum placement through academic program
Strong interest in working with adolescents and families
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, supportive clinical environment
Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
Commitment to cultural humility, inclusivity, and client-centered care
Preferred (but not required)
Experience supporting youth in mental health, school, residential, or community settings
Familiarity with trauma-informed treatment approaches
Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
