Job Description - Clinical Internship

OVERVIEW


Mamaya Health seeks a Master's level intern to provide therapeutic services in
outpatient counseling practice. This position will be providing individual therapy
to a wide variety of clients in an outpatient practice setting, and as needed in
the community. This position will be responsible for conducting clinical intakes
which require knowledge of assessing DSM criteria. This position will be required
to maintain quality and detailed clinical documentation and paperwork and
provide appropriate referrals to collaborative community resources as
identified.



IDEAL CANDIDATE


The ideal candidate values and understands the importance of collaboration
between the medical provider, care team, and therapist and must believe
deeply in creating access to care. The ideal candidate will be an advocate for
individuals who are experiencing significant life transitions and barriers to
resources, is detail-oriented, and has good time management and critical
thinking skills. Must be pursuing a master's in clinical psychology, social work,
marriage and family therapy, or clinical mental health counseling. Must be able
to commit to a minimum of 2 semesters but ideally 3 or more semesters in this
role.



QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS


Education + Experience | Bachelor’s degree in social service field must be
pursuing a Master's degree in clinical psychology, social work, professional
counseling, or a related field.
Communication | Skilled in speaking to persons with various social, cultural,
economic, and educational backgrounds.
Problem-Solving | Experience in developing solutions to complex problems.


Demonstrated ability to identify the source of an issue and provide constructive
strategies to address it. Practicing curiosity and asking open, honest questions
of self and others.
Organization | Detail oriented & good time management skills. Able to take
initiative and complete tasks autonomously and within compliance
guidelines.



RESPONSIBILITIES 


1. Carry a caseload of 10-12 individual clients to provide outpatient therapy
2. Provide 4 hours of care coordination monthly
3. Conduct intake screenings for incoming clients
4. Attend and participate in weekly one-on-one supervision
5. Maintain quality and detailed clinical documentation
6. Take initiative to reach out to expert therapists on our team when additional
support is needed for a client
7. Conduct clinical intakes which require knowledge in assessing DSM
diagnostic criteria
8. Complete assessments and documentation utilizing Blueprint as a
supportive tool (data collection software for standard mental health
assessments, ex: GAD-7, PHQ-9)
9. Collaborate with wraparound services and referrals to ensure
comprehensive care.
10. Other duties when needed and agreed upon with advance notice.



COMPENSATION


This position is not compensated. The applicant should be pursuing this
position for graduate course credit. This position will also benefit from:
           Marketing support to build client caseload
           Staffed Billing Department and Scheduling Support
