About the Utility
Tillamook People’s Utility District (PUD) is a customer-owned electric distribution utility providing electric service in Tillamook County and parts of Clatsop and Yamhill Counties in Oregon. Currently we serve about 23,000 customers in an area of 1,125 square miles.
PUDs tailor services to meet the needs of those they serve, and Tillamook PUD is no exception. We offer a wide array of programs for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Programs include weatherization, lighting efficiency, heat pump programs and much more.
Tillamook PUD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, elected by the voters within its service area. The Board sets rates and policies, with the goal of providing the most benefit to our customers. Tillamook PUD is a unique kind of business. It is not-for-profit and created by the community to serve the community.

About the Position
The College Work Program provides employment during summer months and school vacations (minimum of 14 weeks each year) to assist qualified students in financing a college education to attain a two or four-year degree. Students begin the program by assisting tree trimming and line crews in the field including: brush clearing, flagging and other duties as assigned. Students may have an opportunity to work in the Tillamook PUD office later in the program as well typically performing general office tasks such as, working on special projects, data entry and assisting customers.
The program may be extended for fifth-year seniors if minimum credit requirements, grades and satisfactory job performance have been satisfied. The program is open to students pursuing a two-year technical degree, providing credit hours and schedules allow the student to work during breaks.
The wages are established by the Union contract, and the student will have the option to join the Union. Union dues are paid per month and are paid by the student. Effective January 1, 2026, students will be paid $ 24.09 per hour for years 1 and 2. Rates of pay and Union dues will change based on the Union contract for years 3 and 4.
