Position Summary:

The Commercial Entertainment Marketing Intern is responsible for providing hands-on support to the Commercial Entertainment team through street team management, front of house and back of house experience support, content creation and general marketing responsibilities.

All interns at Omaha Performing Arts (O-pa) will participate in personal/professional development opportunities. This individual must demonstrate the organization’s Core Values of Team, Inclusion, Trust, and Integrity while providing excellent internal and external customer service. This internship is for our Summer term which will run from early June-mid August 2025.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grow and manage street team members, manage poster distribution, identify key events where flyers can be handed out.
• Assist in creation and execution of front of house patron experiences. Including, but not limited to: day of show patron activations, Happy Hour set up and possible attendance (pending schedule), and communication of experiences prior to shows.
• Assist in artist/crew back of house. Including but not limited to: researching artist/crew favorites for creation of artist gifts, conceptualizing experiences.
• Attend agreed-upon shows at Steelhouse Omaha, Holland Center and Orpheum Theater to record content for night-of show coverage. 
• Assist in writing copy, scheduling and tracking email data. 
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

• Open to college sophomore, junior, or senior students as well as graduate students.
• Interest in marketing or communications preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Flexible and able to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Available some nights and weekends for events upon request.

Physical Demands:

• May be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet; public events are moderate to loud.

• General Office Equipment (Computer, Telephone, Fax, Copier, Printer).
