Communications Intern

TAMKO is seeking a Communications Intern at our Galena, Kansas location to support internal and external communications initiatives, corporate giving activities, and community outreach efforts. This part-time, office-based internship provides hands-on experience in corporate communications, content development, and community engagement while supporting the Director of Communications and broader Communications team.

Essential Job Functions

• Monitor and manage the Communications inbox, including triaging and tracking requests


• Track and document all corporate donation and charitable giving activity


• Assist with publishing the quarterly Eagle article for internal TAMKO use


• Draft and distribute internal announcements and employee communications


• Post announcements and updates to the company website


• Help streamline charitable giving processes, including check requests and sponsorship tracking


• Support coordination of media and press inquiries related to community outreach efforts


• Assist with routing marketing and communications contracts and documents through TAMKO’s review process


• Help gather, organize, and distribute promotional and swag items for community and outreach events
  
  

Education and Experience Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college or university and actively pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with content management systems or digital communication tools is a plus


• Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain organization, and meet deadlines in a professional office environment
