Sales \u0026 Commercial Communications Intern\n\nLocation: Houston, TX (Hybrid) \nDuration: Up to 12 months \nFunction: Sales \u0026 Commercial Communications (Student Intern)\n\nRole Overview\n\nSLB is seeking a highly motivated Sales \u0026 Commercial Communications Intern to support high-visibility communications initiatives within the Sales \u0026 Commercial organization. This Houston-based internship offers hands-on experience in corporate communications, event planning, and multimedia content development, with direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic business initiatives. This internship will benefit the right candidate by gaining exposure to career opportunities within the oil and gas technology industry in the communications field.\n\nThe intern will play a meaningful role in supporting two major initiatives:\n\n * A multi-month Customer Success Event Program running through the fall\n * The rollout and ongoing communication of Ignite, SLB\u2019s Sales \u0026 Commercial strategic focus for the next several years\n\n\n\nThis role is ideal for a self-starter with strong communication skills, a professional presence, and an interest in corporate communications, events, and multimedia storytelling.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEvent Planning \u0026 Coordination\n\n * Support planning and execution of a large, multi-day Customer Success event series\n * Assist with event logistics including site visits, vendor coordination, agenda development, catering, awards, gifts, and on-site coordination\n * Work with third-party vendors and production partners\n * Help develop event materials such as agendas, run-of-show documents, photo plans, and attendee collateral\n * Participate in decision-making by researching options and presenting recommendations to leadership\n\n\n\nCommunications \u0026 Content Development\n\n * Support internal communications for the Ignite initiative, including content planning and rollout\n * Assist with creation of presentations, messaging materials, and visual assets aligned with SLB branding\n * Contribute to multimedia content such as videos, photography and video editing\n * Bring fresh ideas for engaging a diverse, global employee population through modern communication channels\n\n\n\nStakeholder Engagement\n\n * Collaborate closely with communications leaders and cross-functional stakeholders\n * Interact professionally with senior leaders and executives\n * Attend meetings, planning sessions, and events as a visible member of the team\n\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n * Currently enrolled student (or recent student) in Communications, Multimedia, Journalism, or a related field\n * Based in Houston, TX and available to work onsite on a hybrid schedule\n * Strong written and verbal communication skills\n * Professional presence and comfort working with senior leaders\n * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail\n * Self-starter who takes initiative, proposes ideas, and follows through\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Experience or coursework in multimedia, video production, or digital content creation\n * Proficiency in PowerPoint with the ability to create professional, executive-ready presentations\n * Familiarity with branding guidelines and corporate communications standards\n * Interest in event planning, communications strategy, or commercial/business communications\n * Portfolio or work samples demonstrating creative or communications work (optional but encouraged)\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\n * Schedule may vary based on event timelines and business needs, including occasional hours outside of a standard workday\n * This role offers significant exposure to corporate communications and event leadership and may provide future career opportunities within SLB\n * Internship may extend through the full calendar year depending on business needs and performance\n\n\n
