Community Assistant
Part-Time | Approximately 20 Hours per Week
Living where you work gives you a pretty unique perspective on what makes a student housing community feel like home.
As a Community Assistant with RISE, you’ll be part of the onsite team while also serving as a familiar face for the students who live in the community. You’ll help residents find answers, get connected, learn about upcoming events, and navigate day-to-day life at the property.
This isn’t a position where you’ll spend every shift sitting behind a desk. Some days you may be helping with resident events, others you may be supporting the leasing team, answering questions, walking the property, or helping with outreach on campus.
If you’re outgoing, dependable, involved on campus, and enjoy meeting new people, this could be a great opportunity to gain professional experience while you’re in school.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serving as a friendly and professional point of contact for residents and prospective residents
- Helping residents understand community policies, procedures, and available resources
- Building relationships with residents and helping create a connected community
- Assisting with resident events, activities, and programming
- Encouraging residents to participate in community events and activities
- Supporting leasing efforts by answering basic questions about the community, amenities, rental rates, floor plans, and the application process
- Assisting the leasing team with application materials and other administrative needs
- Conducting marketing and outreach efforts on campus
- Walking the property and helping ensure common areas and tour routes are clean and ready for residents and guests
- Reporting maintenance concerns to the appropriate team member
- Answering phones, taking messages, and directing questions to the appropriate person
- Completing required company training
- Jumping in to support the onsite team when needed
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need years of professional experience for this role. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, approachable, and comfortable talking with people.
You should also:
- Be currently enrolled at the university
- Have maintained at least a 2.7 GPA during the previous semester and be able to maintain a cumulative 2.7 GPA while employed
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be able to communicate professionally with residents, parents, prospects, vendors, and team members
- Be comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic computer programs
- Be organized and able to follow through on responsibilities
- Be willing to learn about the community, leasing process, and RISE policies
- Be able to work a variable part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week
- Be comfortable walking the property and remaining active throughout your shift
