Construction Discovery Shadow Program

BX Civil & Construction is a heavy highway construction company providing services in concrete paving, guardrail, structure repair, erosion control and other various areas. As a leader in our industry, we work with state-of-the-art equipment and technology and are always looking to develop the workforce of our future. BX Civil & Construction developed the Construction Discovery Shadow Program to expose high school students to the heavy highway construction field.

What is the Construction Discovery Shadow Program?

Who is this program for?

• High school students who are:
  
  
  
  •  16 years or older
  
  
  • Thinking about starting a career in construction after high school, or just want to learn more about the field.
  
  
  • Interested in going to a trade school or community college to study Construction Management, Heavy Equipment Operation, or Diesel Mechanics.
  
  
  • Considering attending a 4-year college to major in civil engineering or construction management.
  
  
  • Looking for summer jobs to do between college classes.
    
  
  
  
  

Program Requirements:

• Students must to fill out the application.


• Both the student and their parent must sign a program waiver before starting.


• Students must arrange their own transportation to and from the BX Project Office in Dell Rapids for scheduled sessions.


• This program is only for observing; students cannot join in the actual work.
