The Corliss STEM H.S. student Tech Team position has been created to help keep our student Chromebooks in good working order. We expect that the school’s student Tech Team will be a key factor in keeping our technology up and running.  We will train them to identify Chromebook issues and either fix or escalate to our school Techco. Having additional people available to review school technology issues will also help to provide continuous access to technology for our student population and teaching staff. 
Job Summary\: Student workers will receive student inquiry and create a ticket for tracking.  They will identify the trouble and use trained tactics to try to resolve the issue.  If unsuccessful they will transfer to an adult for additional assistance. Corliss students will be supervised by Engineering Teacher Mr. Brandon Parks and STEM Specialist Ms. Phyllis Adkins. 
This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 12 hours per week - 3 hours per day afterschool for 4 days per week.  Beginning February 2024 and ending in June 2024.

The Student Worker Job Title will complete duties such as the following: Diagnose device’s problem Troubleshoot student or teacher’s concern Fix device or refer for additional assistance The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred\: Ability to apply critical thinking skills when faced with challenges in order to problem solve and arrive at a solution Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate with school staff and peer students as an active member of a team Proficient in the use of digital technology (ex\: basic computers skills)Capable of maintaining professionalism in various situations Strong work ethic and drive to successfully complete assigned tasks

In order to qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled as a CPS student [attending their sophomore, junior, or senior of high school during the 2023-2024 school year, and must be participating in [class/department program name, etc.]. A valid work permit will be required for students under the age of 16.
