Dates of Internship:

June 2, 2025 - August 1, 2025. You must be available to work for the full 9 weeks

Work Hours: 

Our office hours are from Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  

Position Overview:

Pref-Tech’s internship role provides an opportunity for students who participated in our Craftsman with Character (CWC) program in Spring 2025. This internship is for those students who are interested in learning more about the security integration industry. Interns will gain practical experience in all areas of our company (based on request and availability). The internship is onsite at our corporate location in Houston, where interns learn and perform critical job duties of the various onsite-level positions. Roles available in Operations (Technician), IT, Accounting and Warehouse/Fleet Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

An Intern may be required to perform any of the duties and responsibilities below (including but not limited to) the following:

• Work with the on-site team to get a sense of the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of each department, including Operations, IT, Accounting and Warehouse/Fleet Management.


• Become familiar with Company processes and operational techniques through completing required in-house training.


• May have the opportunity to shadow team members.


• May work on special projects that require building relationships and partnering with Pref-Tech teams or Departments to reach goals.


• May work with and contribute to outreach and promotion efforts utilizing website and social media outlets.


• Participate in all required company events including (but not limited to) orientation, onboarding, trainings, workshops, department or companywide meetings, mentorship activities, and offsite visits as requested or required.
  

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Participated in Craftsman with Character Program with Pref-Tech in Spring 2025.


• Reliable transportation to get to our Houston Office: 1414 Wedgewood St., Houston, TX.
  


• Cell phone for communication.


• Good work ethic and academic achievement.


• Willingness to take on new challenges.


• Capacity to work collaboratively.


• Ability to perform physical tasks like walking, standing, lifting, and ascending / descending ladders and stairs of varying heights with little to no limitation.


• Good written and oral communication skills.
