CropLife America Communications Summer Intern

Job Description - CropLife America Communications Summer Intern

Description

CropLife America (CLA) is the national trade association representing the manufacturers, formulators, and distributors of pesticides. These tools and technologies are recognized as essential to support healthy food, people, and the planet. Our members produce, sell, and distribute virtually all the vital and necessary pesticide and biotechnology products used by farmers, ranchers, and landowners to help ensure growers and consumers have the technologies they need to protect crops, communities, and ecosystems from the threat of pests, weeds, and diseases in an environmentally sustainable way.

CLA encourages all farming practices, supports environmental policies based on science and best practices, and maintains farmers’ and companies’ competitive advantage. On behalf of our members, we provide legislative and regulatory advocacy, legal support, and communications outreach so that our member companies can provide the agricultural products and technology behind our safe food supply, reducing risks from destructive pests and diseases. Our offices are located in Arlington, VA.

CLA Internship Program

We strive to offer 3-4 comprehensive internships that provide an integral experience in the pesticide/agricultural industry, including hands-on learning and the opportunity to create a relevant portfolio to present to future employers.

These are paid internships, with start dates flexible with students' schedules. Internships typically last 10 - 12 weeks. Ideal candidates have completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework, have an interest in agriculture policy, and be available for the entire duration of the internship. • Compile reports, prepare agendas, and organize background material for departmental committee and/or board meetings.
  • Assist in the planning and promoting webinars for CropLife America’s Annual Meeting.
