Plan, facilitate, and lead OAP First Tracks pre-orientation programs and outdoor activities.
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for incoming students.
Serve as a strong role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, positivity, and respect for others.
Lead groups with high energy, enthusiasm, and adaptability in both outdoor and group-living environments.
Foster community and encourage participation through team-building, communication, and leadership activities.
Maintain group safety through effective risk management, sound decision-making, and situational awareness.
Communicate clearly and professionally with participants, co-leaders, supervisors, and university staff.
Provide mentorship and support to incoming students during their transition to college life.
Be proficient in technical outdoor skills appropriate to assigned trips and activities.
Assist with trip logistics, gear preparation, transportation, and program setup/cleanup.
Respond calmly and effectively to challenges, conflicts, and emergencies in the field.
Uphold all Outdoor Adventure Program and Regis University policies and expectations.
Employment Dates
OAP First Tracks Trip Leaders will work from August 13 to August 19, 2026, and must be available for the entire duration of training and trips with no exceptions.
Additional Job Responsibilities
Learn and utilize OAP software systems for gear rental, inventory management, and trip registration.
Maintain positive and proactive customer service at all times.
Work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
Manage multiple responsibilities in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrate punctuality, dependability, honesty, and professionalism.
Communicate information clearly, patiently, and respectfully to participants and customers.
Learn and follow detailed procedures, policies, and safety expectations.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience working with the Outdoor Adventure Program or equivalent outdoor leadership experience preferred.
Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to lead and motivate groups with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and managing group dynamics.
Ability to serve as a positive role model for incoming college students.
Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

These positions are benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
