NG-MIP is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.\n\nResponsibilities for this internship position are:\n\nNorthrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman \u2013 Military Internship Program (DoD SKillbridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.\n\nGoals \u2013 Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.\n\nObjectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission \u201cDefining Possible\u201d on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.\n\nOutcome \u2013 Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.\n\nDoD SkillBridge Eligibility:\n\n\u00b7 Has served at least 180 days on active duty\n\n\u00b7 Is within 12 months of separation or retirement\n\n\u00b7 Will receive an honorable discharge\n\n\u00b7 Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS\n\n\u00b7 Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months\n\n\u00b7 Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.\n\nExpand your horizons, advance your career, and contribute to a secure future for generations. As a Cyber Systems Engineer \u2013 Level 2 located in Dulles, VA, you\u2019ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.\n\nA Cyber Systems Security Engineering position requires demonstrated technical accomplishments in securing complex systems that can be applied to Space Systems. Space Systems are comprised of multiple segments, and this position has responsibilities across Ground Segments, Communications Segments, and Space Segments. This position supports National Security Space missions that require the most trustworthy personnel and a new hire start date is contingent on TS/SCI clearance transfer. \n \nTo be successful you should have:\n\n * Experience designing systems/networks to use, or hands-on experience operating, DISA Host Based Security System (HBSS) or Endpoint Security Suite (ESS) solutions\n\n * Experience designing systems/networks to use, or hands-on experience with industry platform hardening practices, such as DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, as well as documentation of deviations and mitigations\n\n * Experience designing systems/networks to use, or scanning, remediating, mitigating, and reporting cybersecurity vulnerabilities discovered through use of audit reduction tools and/or the DISA Automated Security Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool or Tenable NESSUS\n\n * Experience implementing the RMF process from system categorization through continuous monitoring\n\n * Excellent technical document preparation skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders ranging from technical staffers up to senior program managers\n\n\n\n\nThis position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.\n\nJob responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:\n\n * Work as part of an integrated product team (IPT) to architect, implement, and satisfy Risk Management Framework (RMF) CyberSecurity, CyberResilience, and/or CyberSurvivability requirements of satellite systems, communications links, and ground command \u0026 control (C2) systems. You will engage with multiple engineering disciplines and contribute to the secure design of complex systems\n\n * System Security Engineering Requirements management in support of program protection (PP) requirements, work with systems engineers to decompose system-level security controls into technical performance requirements across the segments and down to specific components, across disciplines Anti-Tamper, TEMPEST, Cybersecurity (RMF), and cryptographic component integration/development. You will ensure that Cyber requirements are included in the formal requirements tracking process and is Cyber/SSE contributor for a segment or subsystem\n\n * Perform Attack Surface Analysis (ASA) and prepare Systems Security Plan (SSP) documentation for complex space systems, including Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTM), Security Assessment Procedures, and POA\u0026Ms\n\n * Implement and maintain COTS security products (firewalls, anti-virus, two-factor authentication, SIEM tools, etc. within terrestrial systems\n\n * For space segments, you will support design and implementation of space vehicle hardening, for embedded processors and flight software. Experience with real-time operating systems, secure coding best practices, or other mission critical operational systems is required\n\n * Prepare and Execute assessment procedures to verify conformance with Commercial, Federal Civilian agency, Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, and/or Special Access Program, Cyber/SSE security controls, and or survivability requirements, as required based on the specified customer/system requirements\n\n * Work in an Agile engineering environment, where the Cyber/SSE may assist in triage of Static Code Analysis (SCA) tool findings (e.g. Fortify) and assist in prioritizing the findings as technical debt in the SwDLC backlog\n\n * Work in small teams to complete systems engineering, assembly, integration, and test activities for security-critical components, such as Cross Domain Solutions, cryptographic devices, and controlled interfaces\n\n * Securely deploy Mission Unique Software (MUS) in computing clouds and/or highly virtualized environments. Prepare Certification to Field (CTF) assessment procedures. Execute CTF test cases for observation by customer cybersecurity representatives\n\n * Interface with customer representatives to accomplish Cyber Test \u0026 Evaluation of systems to meet critical program milestones\n\n * Perform system vulnerability scanning, remediation, and patch management activities on Windows and Red Hat operating systems and various COTS/GOTS applications including those within virtualized and/or cloud environments\n\n * Document (or update) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and when needed, perform software patch installation, other flaw remediation, antivirus updates, and continuous monitoring (ConMon) activities\n\n * Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the system security authorization package\n\n * Other duties as assigned\n\n\n\n\nIf this job description reads like it was written specifically for you, consider joining our team!\n\nThis position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in STEM field with 2 years of cyber systems experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree in a STEM field with 0 years of cyber systems experience. \n\n * Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance [TS/SCI] at time of application\n\n * US citizenship required\n\n * Must hold a current CompTIA Sec+ certification\n\n * Experience designing systems/networks to use, or hands-on experience with industry platform hardening practices, such as DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, as well as documentation of deviations and mitigations\n\n * Experience designing systems/networks to use, or scanning, remediating, mitigating, and reporting cybersecurity vulnerabilities discovered through use of audit reduction tools and/or the DISA Automated Security Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool or Tenable NESSUS\n\n * Experience implementing the RMF process from system categorization through continuous monitoring.\n\n * MUST BE RETIRING OR SEPARATING FROM THE U.S. Military within 12 months\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Current CISSP-ISSEP or CISSP-ISSAP certification\n\n * Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering\n\n * Experience with IA/cybersecurity experience, with are least 3 of those within the SAP community in the defense aerospace industry\n\n * Experience hardening Docker containers\n\n\n\n\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector?
