The Work You Will Do:


Strategic Development Internship Position


 


This position will provide an exciting opportunity to be part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Strategic Development Office, the financial and business support team for Strategic Development, which includes the Office of Modal Development.


Applicable fields of study include transportation, urban and regional planning, financial management, accounting, data analysis, information technology, public administration, and business administration.


Prefer candidates with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

Your Specific Responsibilities:



  • Handle special projects requested by the Chief Strategy Officer, Assistant Secretary.

  • Support the Modal Development program areas as needed including Aviation, Freight and Rail, Seaport, Spaceport, and Transit.

  • Run financial data reports for Strategic Development

  • Create pivot tables to analyze data elements.

  • Assist with monitoring data shown on the Modal Development Grants Performance Power BI dashboard.

  • Monitor daily reports to ensure funds and budget are balanced to available allocations.

  • Monitor the daily cost allocation report to ensure prior year funds are balanced.

  • Assist with monitoring operating budget activities within Strategic Development.

  • Assist in data research.

  • Provide general support to Strategic Development finance staff as needed.

  • Update SharePoint office sites.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide identification supporting citizenship or authority to work for the duration of program participation.

  • Participants are required to comply with all statutes and rules and the Department’s policies, procedures, regulations, and Code of Ethics.


 


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: You will be required to provide your Social Security Number to conduct required verifications. Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, will not be eligible for hire or promotion in the Career Service, or appointment in the Selected Exempt Service (SES) or Senior Management Service (SMS), unless they are registered with the Selective Service System (SSS) before their 26th birthday, or have a Letter of Registration Exemption from the SSS.
