Echocardiography Intern

Basic Functions:
The Intern Echocardiography Technologist is responsible for the performance of echocardiography procedures under the supervision of a certified Echocardiography Technologist requiring strong judgment, critical thinking skills and initiative.  These procedures include, but are not limited to, transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography via safe and appropriate use of echocardiographic imaging equipment. 

Qualifications:
Required:
• Must be a high school graduate.
• Must be entering last semester of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and specializing in cardiac ultrasound imaging.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and scanning in diagnostic cardiac imaging.
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills and work compatibly with patients, physicians, supervisors, and technologists.
• Must be able to take instructions, constructive criticism and feedback in a accepting and professional manner.
• Must be adaptable to change in the patient care working environment.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred:
• Experience with computer applications
