EHS Fire Extinguisher Inspector Work Study

Rate of Pay: $9.70/hr

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Fire Extinguisher Inspection:

• Assist in monthly inspections of fire extinguishers in non-residential campus buildings.

• Check for proper placement, accessibility, and signage.

• Verify inspection tags are up to date and properly documented.

• Report missing, damaged, or discharged extinguishers.

• Help maintain inspection logs and digital records.

• Assist with identifying fire hazards.

Qualifications:

• Frequent walking, climbing stairs, and accessing various campus facilities

• Occasional lifting, bending, and carrying of equipment.

Training Provided:

• Fire extinguisher inspection procedures.

• Basic fire safety and hazard recognition.

• Campus safety protocols and compliance standards.
