Job Description - EMS Preparedness Student Worker (NFWS/FWS)

The Student Worker EMS Preparedness supports GCU’s Emergency Preparedness Department’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program and emergency preparedness activities through administrative and operational assistance. This part-time role assists with inventory management, scheduling, communications, documentation, and general emergency preparedness activities that advance campus safety and coordination.

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Essential Functions

  • Assist with EMS program administrative activities including scheduling, tracking, and coordination.
  • Support inventory management of EMS supplies, equipment, and training materials.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and program documentation.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, summaries, and program metrics.
  • Support internal communications related to EMS preparedness activities and training.
  • Provide general emergency preparedness support for drills, exercises, and campus safety initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility

  • Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 Suite, Microsoft Teams, basic inventory tracking systems, email and communication platforms, and standard office equipment.
  • EMS BLS and Trauma Kits

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Interest in emergency preparedness, public safety, or related fields preferred.

Experience / Education

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA (Bachelor) or 3.0 GPA (Master).
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing
  • Prefer Experience: National or State of Arizona Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

You may be subject to termination if minimum requirements are not met.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2026
