Emergent Method seeks a student intern to support a wide range of event planning, coordination, and logistical tasks for the firm’s event team. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a strong desire to learn, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work. This internship is based in Baton Rouge and requires availability to work 20-30 hours per week. Please note this internship is designed to start in May and continue beyond the summer, with opportunities for extended involvement based on performance and availability. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assisting with the planning and execution of events and meetings, including logistics, timelines, and vendor coordination
Supporting the development and distribution of event materials, such as invitations, agendas, and signage
Managing attendee lists, RSVPs, and registration processes
Researching and maintaining databases of venues, suppliers, and vendors
Providing on-site event support, including setup, check-in, and cleanup
Assisting with scheduling and preparing materials for internal and external meetings
Supporting the development of post-event reports, summaries, and feedback analysis
Collaborating with team members to support event communications and project updates
Providing general administrative support as needed
Minimum qualifications and expectations include:
Studying toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in event management, business, mass communication, public relations, or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, for events
Willingness to travel to off-site events as needed and assist with physical event setup and logistics
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to complete tasks
Effective time management, interpersonal, and project coordination skills
Strong work ethic, professionalism, and attention to detail
In good academic standing
Involvement in extracurricular activities with demonstrated leadership experience
Ability to lift and transport materials or equipment for events and drive to off-site locations as needed
Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding internal practices, as well as client names, projects, and other information
