Job Description - Events & Fan Engagement Internship
This internship provides an opportunity to learn and gain experience within the event services department at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Interns will be exposed to a comprehensive picture of the coordination and execution of various events and fan engagement initiatives during the internship, including concerts, sporting events, family shows, and special events (corporate, non-profit, and community events). Interns will assist with wide array of projects to ensure a positive experience for all who enter the arena, from show/event personnel to ticket buyers and event attendees.
Areas of focus include:
Assist with event setup and breakdown
Assist with pre-event logistics and event day operations
Assist in day-of-event coordination for event VIP experiences and special events
Assist in the build and execution of fan engagement initiatives, including pre-show experiences, event upsells, and photo opportunities
Support part-time event services staff members on show days with ingress, egress, and customer service needs
Contact and coordinate with vendors and place orders for shows
Assist in the collection of survey data and the creation of survey reports
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Hours: We are flexible with schedules due to the importance of a student’s dedication to studies and school activities, but ask that the interns are committed to the schedule agreed upon once the internships begin.
A minimum of 20 hours per week would give a student ample exposure to real-world daily responsibilities and routines.
Occasional early morning, weekend and evening hours may be requested depending on the event schedule.
Payment: This is a non-paid internship
Housing and Travel: Nonapplicable
Open to undergraduate students (or recent graduates) pursuing a degree in business, recreation, sports management, or a comparable program
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Strong communication skills
Must be detail-oriented, and an independent thinker who is interested in working in the entertainment and live events industry
Must possess strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
