Position Summary:

Position Summary Perry Ellis International is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fabric Library Assistant for a temporary assignment in our Miami office. This is a unique, high-impact role supporting a major AI digitization initiative. You will be responsible for the hands-on process of cataloging and digitizing our extensive fabric library, ensuring that our designers can seamlessly search and access materials through our new digital platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digitization & Scanning: Systematically take high-quality photos of every fabric hanger within the physical library to prepare them for digital integration.

  • Data Management: Efficiently "dump" and organize image files, ensuring they are correctly named and uploaded into the designated shared drive.

  • System Integration: Assist in placing files into the AI-driven platform to build a searchable database for the design teams.

  • Library Maintenance: Ensure the physical fabric library remains organized and accessible throughout the scanning project.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the project team to follow specific directions and meet daily scanning quotas.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in an Administrative Assistant, Clerk, or Order Entry role is preferred, but we are open to entry-level candidates and current students.

  • Education: High School Diploma required; current college students are encouraged to apply.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and a basic comfort level with digital filing and shared drives (Google Drive/Dropbox).

  • Schedule: This is a 1-month temporary assignment (potentially extending to 8 weeks). Candidates must be available at least 3 to 5 days a week; preferably 40 hours a week. Half-day shifts are acceptable.

  • Location: Must be local to the Miami area.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly Detailed: Precision is key when naming and filing hundreds of fabric samples to ensure system accuracy.

  • Follows Direction: Ability to adhere to specific project protocols and workflows with minimal supervision.

  • Proactive & Focused: Comfortable with repetitive, high-volume tasks while maintaining a high standard of quality.

  • Adaptive: Able to pivot between physical library work and digital data entry seamlessly.
