TITLE: FACILITIES MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Job Summary:

Calvin Christian School is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our maintenance team for the summer. The Summer Maintenance Worker will assist in performing various maintenance, custodial, and landscaping tasks to ensure the school facilities are well-maintained and ready for the upcoming school year. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in keeping spaces clean and functional.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.


• Assist with minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks.


• Maintain school grounds with general upkeep


• Set up and break down equipment as needed


• Assist in inspecting and repairing facility equipment as needed


• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies safely.


• Follow safety procedures and guidelines as directed by the Building & Grounds Supervisor.


• Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must be at least 15 years of age


• High school diploma or current high school student preferred.


• Previous maintenance, custodial, or landscaping experience is a plus but not required.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.


• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.


• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  

Pay & Benefits

This position is part-time hourly and is not eligible for any benefits at this time. Pay range $16-$18 commensurate with experience.

Required Hours

Days of the week and hours could vary, but on average, at least 15 hours/week.

• The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, read, see and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to type, handle, or feel and reach. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel Requirements

No regular travel required. 

Working Conditions 

Work is performed in and around the school campus. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors at moderate noise levels.
