The placement opportunity includes the following departments and positions:

Department: Orientation
Position: Onboarding
Duration: 0.5 month
Job Description:
You will receive orientation to the company and local community and includes learning about our company’s customers, culture, business strategies, etc.; learn about payroll schedules and payroll tax withholding; local training area, housing options, apartment complexes and transportation options; meet key contacts and other employees; receive computer training on company systems; receive orientation to local community including cultural centers, volunteer opportunities, local sporting events, and entertainment venues. Orientation is scheduled to take up to one month and takes places concurrently with the first phase of training.

Department: Food and Beverage
Position: In Room Dining Server
Duration: 3.5 months
Job Description:
You will learn opening and closing duties of room service staff; learn American standards for food and beverage service in room service; learn room service safety and emergency procedures; department training procedures; provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items including specials, wine pairings and dietary requirements, learn procedures to visually monitor food quality, verify temperature, and appearance to ensure quality; learn to ensure service standards are met; learn process to handle any guest issues and ensure customer satisfaction; assist with station and table set-ups and learn to ensure they meet business demands; learn payment transactions including processing room charges and collecting cash or credit payments, learn to coordinate with culinary team to ensure a timely delivery of orders, learn to assist with various side duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position: In Room Dining Coordinator
Duration: 4 months
Job Description:
You will learn American service standards, menu knowledge to assist with upselling, serve as the primary contact for guests placing in-room dining orders with prompt and courteous communication; accurately record orders, including special requests, dietary restrictions, and delivery preferences; coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely and accurate order preparation and delivery; conduct quality checks to ensure orders meet brand standards for accuracy and presentation; collaborate with other departments to fulfil special guest requests and resolve service issues; maintain an organized workspace and manage inventory of in-room dining supplies.

Position: Assistant In Room Dining Manager
Duration: 4 months
Job Description:
You will learn to manage all aspects of the In Room Dining/Room Service operations team to deliver high level of guest satisfaction and superior services to guests and learn how to assist in managing daily IRD operations. Manage seamless coordination between the kitchen, service staff and guest communications. Supervise and support IRD servers and coordinators during shifts, including providing guidance, training and real-time feedback. Monitor the accuracy and timing of order taking, preparation and delivery to ensure exceptional service. Manage inventory of IRD supplies and amenities. Handle guest concerns and complaints with discretion and professionalism, ensuring service recovery and satisfaction. Learn to assist with administrative duties such as scheduling, training documentation and team communication.

Requirements

Enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience.
