GTI is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Clerk Intern to join our team. As a vital member of our organization, you will assist in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and health protocols are maintained across our facilities. What You’ll Do:

• Hands-On Learning: Immerse yourself in our food safety operations, gaining practical experience as you assist the Safety Coordinator in tackling daily challenges and solving problems.
• Collaborative Environment: Work closely with experienced team members, fostering teamwork and support as you ensure food safety protocols are met.
• Inspection Support: Participate in periodic inspections of safety and health equipment, including first aid kits, eye wash stations, and personal protective equipment (PPE), contributing to a safe working environment.
• Training Assistance: Assist in coordinating and conducting basic employee training and meetings on food safety practices, promoting awareness and compliance.
• Documentation Management: Collaborate with the Safety Coordinator to maintain accurate food safety and health documents and files, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Daily Inspections: Support daily inspections for food safety, contributing to the identification and resolution of potential hazards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Perform all duties in strict accordance with environmental, food safety, and safety rules and regulations.
• Additional Duties: Fulfill any other assigned duties related to food safety and health as required. 

Requirements

Internship Requirements: 

• Ideal candidates are pursuing studies in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, Food Safety, or a related field.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Physically capable of bending and walking for long periods.
• Must be adaptable with the ability to change work priorities quickly depending on day-to-day events and business needs.
• Flexible schedule and available for a 6 – 8-week commitment. 
• Must possess eligibility to work in the United States.
• Proficiency in Spanish communication is beneficial but not mandatory.

*The compensation range for this role is determined by factors such as location and required skills. The salary range provided reflects the lowest to highest amount we reasonably anticipate paying for this position at the time of posting. Compensation is influenced by labor market conditions and various factors, including but not limited to: the prevailing minimum wage in the area, relevant education, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, sales or revenue targets, and business needs. It is not typical for a new hire to be offered the highest end of the salary range. Pay decisions are made based on the unique circumstances of each candidate and position. Range: $19.00-$23.00

Physical Requirements:

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.
