A Brief Overview

The GMA Publications intern will support the development, organization, and optimization of our scientific publications library while gaining hands-on experience across the full scientific communications ecosystem. This opportunity provides hands-on exposure to operational activities of Medical Affairs, including content management, knowledge systems, and cross-functional collaboration. This internship is designed for students who are curious about scientific storytelling, evidence generation, and how data translates into healthcare decision making. The intern will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced Medical Affairs professionals and explore areas of interest, such as scientific writing, literature reviews, data visualization, medical strategy, or competitive intelligence, while contributing to ongoing departmental priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the build-out and organization of the Merz Scientific Publications Library.
  
  
  • Assist with document organization, metadata tagging, and quality checks to ensure long-term usability and compliance
  
  
  • Conduct literature searches and assist in summarizing key findings for internal use.
  
  
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to gain an understanding of medical affairs, scientific communications, and regulatory considerations.
  
  
  • Assist with ad hoc projects related to publications operations, reporting, or process improvements, as needed, tailored to career interests.
