This is a summer internship based in Richland, WA. Must hire and onboard no later than June 22, 2026.

The job classification is only open to students enrolled in the CBC Nuclear Technology programs in radiation safety.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for performing routine health physics tasks and special radiological surveillance and control, radiological surveys, dose assessment, instrument calibration, records and report filing.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for assessment of airborne and/or surface contamination and radiation levels, and reinforcing established radiological controls for station activities.

Job duties include performing routine and special health physics tasks such as plant radiological surveillance and control, radiological surveys, dose assessment, instrument source response checks, radiological records and appropriate filing.

Actively participate in the completion of their OJT/OJE tasks assigned.

Function within an assigned crew from a Health Physics Control Point during either a refueling outage or an operating fuel cycle, and perform other tasks as required.]

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of a vocational/trade school program specialized in radiation safety.

$34.50 per hour

Temporary employees may be required to participate in the Washington State Pension Plan (PERS) and may also be eligible to enroll in medical insurance if the duration and hours worked requirements are met. Temporary employees accrue paid time off that is available to use after 90 days of employment.
