Healthcare Policy Research Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

This position serves as a healthcare policy research and analysis support for Mount Nittany Health department of Planning & Business Development. The aim of this role is to provide legislative, public policy and industry analysis support for decision making as it pertains to strategic planning. This is a paid, temporary, part-time position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and completing first-year prior of undergraduate studies prior to internship start date. 

Experience:

1. None required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

1. Conducts business in a professional and cordial manner that upholds the integrity and reputation of Mount Nittany Medical Center.

2. Legally authorized to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (ex. H1-B, F-1). 

3. Knowledge of with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams is required.

4. Knowledge of one of the following: PowerBI, R, Python, is preferred 

5. Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Research and analyze legislative and public policy sources to provide insights on emerging healthcare industry trends and regulations.

2. Gathers and organizes data and information to assist in current and on-going projects.

3. Creates reports and policy memos to communicate results and recommendations.

4. Provides support to department projects that enhance the operations of Mount Nittany Health.
