High School Workers Age 16 +

Peirce School is a PK-8th Grade IB Elementary School located in the Edgewater Community.  High School student workers will support a variety of programs including working with Peirce students through after school/summer programs along with supporting Peirce staff members with special projects. Peirce believes that young people have a positive impact on the development of other young people and want to incorporate high school leaders into our program.
Job Summary\: Student workers will report to the school’s principal and assignments will be coordinated with school staff members.  
This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will vary based on each project/class but will generally be:School YearMonday-Thursday from 3\:30pm-5\:00pm Fridays from 2\:30 - 4\:30pm 
SummerMonday-Friday 9am-2pm from June 24th-July 26th
Students aged 16+ will be compensated at $15.80/hour
The Student Worker Job Title will complete duties such as the following: Co-teach after school/summer classes with school staff members Take on a leadership role when working with young people Actively monitor and supervise students The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred\: Ability to apply critical thinking skills when faced with challenges in order to problem solve and arrive at a solution Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate with school staff and peer students as an active member of a team Proficient in the use of digital technology (ex\: basic computers skills)Capable of maintaining professionalism in various situations Strong work ethic and drive to successfully complete assigned tasks

In order to qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled as a CPS student at Senn High School [attending their sophomore, junior, or senior of high school during the 2024-2025 school year. A valid work permit will be required for students under the age of 16.
