HR Internship - Summer

Location: Hammond, IN Duration: 10-12 weeks (Summer 2025) Type: Paid Internship About Altom Transport Altom Transport is a leader in specialized transportation, focusing on petrochemical, hazardous materials, and bulk liquid transport . With a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence , our HR team plays a crucial role in supporting our drivers and staff across North America. What You’ll Do: As an HR Intern , you’ll gain hands-on experience in key areas of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition , including: Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating new hire orientations. Employee Relations: Help maintain a positive workplace culture by supporting HR initiatives and employee engagement programs. HR Compliance & Policies: Learn about DOT compliance, HR regulations, and company policies. Training & Development: Assist in planning and organizing training sessions for new hires and current employees. HR Systems & Data Management: Work with Workable (our ATS) and other HR platforms to track applicants and employee data. Special Projects: Support HR-driven projects such as diversity & inclusion, retention strategies, and performance reviews. What We’re Looking For: Current college student or recent graduate (HR, Business Administration, or related field). Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism. Interest in recruiting, compliance, and workforce development . Experience with Microsoft Office, HRIS, or ATS platforms (a plus but not required). Why Intern with Altom?
