Job Description - Human Resources and Talent Development Coordinator





Description

The Human Resources and Talent Development Coordinator (HRTDC) is a critical hands-on contributor to the Operations team, strongly emphasizing recruitment and organizational learning and development. This role is responsible for sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and ensuring a high-quality candidate experience. Additionally, the HRTDC coordinates and supports learning and development initiatives as well as core HR operations functions such as onboarding, performance management, HRIS administration, compliance, and employee relations. The ideal candidate has superior oral and written communication skills, strong project and process management experience, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail when performing tasks and meeting deadlines. This candidate is also passionate about people, systems, democracy, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. The salary for this position is $70K-$80K based on qualifications and experience.


Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment (Primary Focus)

·  Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and review/update job descriptions.

·  Manage job postings, source candidates, review resumes, conduct initial candidate screenings, and identify high-potential candidates.

·  Coordinate and schedule interviews, manage communication with candidates, and ensure a positive and equitable candidate experience.

·  Perform reference checks.

·  Coordinate and review background checks and pre-employment onboarding documentation.

·  Maintain accurate applicant tracking and hiring documentation.

·  Serve as primary point of contact and coordinator for all internship recruitments.

Learning & Development (Major Focus)

·  Assess employee training needs in collaboration with department leaders and HR leadership.

·  Coordinate and manage the logistics of learning and development programs, including employee orientation, compliance training, specialty training and ongoing professional development.

·  Source vendors, materials, and subject matter experts to support L&D programs.

·  Track participation, develop/administer surveys to gather feedback, and measure program effectiveness.

Employee Relations & Policy Support

·  Lead operational and administrative aspects of all employee relations functions, including but not limited to benefits enrollment, performance management, and professional development

·  Serve as first point of contact for staff inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.

·  Provide guidance on employment action/employee relations processes and documentation, and escalates issues as appropriate.

·  Draft/Review HR communications, including employee Emails and letters, policy updates, and handbooks.

HRIS Administration & Reporting

·  Maintain employee records and data integrity within the HRIS (Paylocity).

·  Generate reports to support compliance, audits, and organizational decision-making.

·  Assist with data collection for report generation for all HR needs.

Performance Management

·  Support the planning and execution of the performance review process.

·  Assist managers and employees with goal-setting tools, timelines, and documentation.

·  Track completion and follow-up on development plans and performance improvement efforts.

Onboarding & Offboarding

·  Manage onboarding logistics to ensure a welcoming and comprehensive new hire experience.

·  Conduct new employee orientation.

·  Facilitate offboarding processes, conduct exit interviews, and identify trends for improvement.

Compliance & Operations

·  Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and HR best practices.

·  Support internal audits, recordkeeping, and regulatory filings as needed.

·  Participate in continuously improving HR systems, processes, and templates.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or a related field preferred.

SHRM- CP, PHR, or similar HR certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Technical

5+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on recruitment and learning and development.

Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms, preferably Paylocity.

Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Teams.

Experience with benefits administration preferred.

Non-technical

Excellent organizational, time management, and project/process coordination skills.

Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to engage across diverse audiences.

Strong administrative and data management skills.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Customer service mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery. Constantly operates a laptop/computer and other office productivity machinery, such as acalculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is generally indoors and rarely exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usuallymoderate-to-low.
