Position: IFPDA Foundation Summer Intern for Prints and Drawings
Supervisor: The Allen and Kelli Questrom Assistant Curator of Prints and Drawings
Schedule: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch on three mutually agreed upon days (Monday-Friday), 21 hours per week onsite at the DMA
Internship Period: July 1, 2025 to August 29, 2025 (9weeks)
Stipend: Funded through the IFPDA Foundation

Scope of Internship:
The IFPDA-sponsored summer intern will support the Dallas Museum of Art’s goal to catalogue and enhance the records for their collection of works on paper. This internship is designed to provide a professional development opportunity for an emerging museum professional who is interested in collection management, object-based research, and medium-specific curatorial work. Under the supervision of the Allen and Kelli Questrom Assistant Curator for Prints and Drawings, the intern will be responsible for cataloguing works from the museum’s permanent collection. They will use the museum’s collection management database, TMS, and focus on updating and enhancing information such as medium line, state and edition, provenance and exhibition history, watermark information, collector’s marks, bibliographic records, dimension and other pertinent collection data. The intern will also have the opportunity to write textual entries for the website. The intern will engage with works on paper from across time and culture, but the primary focus of their cataloguing project will be historical material. The intern will receive professional mentorship and gain hands-on experience examining objects, with the support of the curator, collections team, conservation, and other pertinent stakeholders.
