Job Summary

This co-op is an onsite experience at our corporate offices in Cleveland, Ohio.

The successful candidate will assist the Consumer Insights team in administrative tasks supporting various different qualitative and quantitative research programs while learning key concepts of the Insights profession.

 Insights programs include, but are not limited to, focus groups, 1:1 in-depth interviews, in-home ethnographic research, retail audits, market landscaping, online discussion forums, and quantitative online surveys.

 Candidates must have the ability to help synthesize inputs from multiple sources to formulate themes and key insights. This position is best suited for an individual who is inquisitive about the world, pays close attention to detail, enjoys learning new things, and values the integrity of data.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Providing administrative support of consumer research programs

·        Proof-reading discussion guides/survey instruments/reports

·        Note-taking (in real-time or from recordings) with a perceptive and engaged mind

·        Coding of open-ended survey responses

·        Conducting secondary research by mining available information on a product category or market

·        Analyzing market trends, patent landscapes, competitive products, retail audits, etc. to support the identification of white space opportunities for competitive differentiation

·        Managing the logistics of on-site primary research events (sign-in sheets, name tents, meals, room preparation, etc.)

Essential Functions

·        Office environment including sitting for extended periods

·        Close computer work for extended periods

·        Listening to groups speak/identifying key themes for extended periods

·        Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

·        Ability to work evening hours occasionally to assist with focus group sessions (approximately 1-2 nights per month)

Education and Professional Requirements

Completed a minimum of junior year in a Bachelor’s degree program in Psychology, Marketing Research, Statistics, Sociology, or related discipline.

Competencies or Experience Requirements

·       Ability to work independently with deadlines, budgets, and client expectations   

·       Superior writing, presentation and communication skills

·       Professionalism and the ability to work well within a team

·       Comfortable working through ambiguous situations to create understanding and direction

·        Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Technical Requirements

·        Proven ability to type 70+ WPM

·        Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·        Strong computer proficiency (i.e. search engines, online research)

·        Proficiency or experience with SPSS is a plus

·        Proficiency in AI tools

 

This position pays $19 - $20 per hour. Nottingham Spirk also offers a team-based culture, and opportunity to learn and grow.
