Summary of the Clinical Research (Operations) Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join Axogen’s Clinical Research team in Tampa. The internship will be for a few semesters and start this summer 2025. Knowledgeable mentors will guide a dynamic, professional, hands-on experience. This internship will provide a unique look into the clinical research operations of a leading biomedical technology company with high visibility within the organization.  The Clinical Research (Operations) Intern will gain valuable insight into the clinical research processes that are used to bring novel biotechnologies to market.

Requirements of the Clinical Research (Operations) Internship

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program; preferably in a medical, life science, biomedical engineering, or health science discipline


• Ability to work up to 40 hours/week in the summer and a minimum of 20 hours/week during the fall semester and beyond, during normal business hours (8-5pm, Mon-Fri); specific days/hours will be based on student’s class load


• Pass a drug screening


• Able to work out of the Tampa HQ


• Curiosity and a passion for clinical research are a must


• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are a must


• Strong written and oral communication skills are a must


• Ability to work cross-functionally with people from multiple departments within the organization


• Advanced PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams

Project Details

Under the direction of the program leader, this project will include: 

• Supporting review of potential clinical research design elements


• Supporting the review of clinical research study documents 


• Participating in the information gathering for, and/or review of, additional study documents through the end of the internship.

Compensation

The anticipated base wage for this position is $18/hr for an undergrad student and $20/hr for a grad student. In addition to the base hourly rate, there may be a housing stipend available based on location. Interns who are 21 years of age or older are eligible for 401K.
