Intern - Construction Management (Summer 2027) - McCarthy Improvement (Effingham, IL)

McCarthy Improvement is looking for a Construction Management Intern for Summer 2027 in our Effingham, Illinois location.  

Applicants who are pursuing any level college degree or trade program that focuses on construction management, design, engineering or other construction trade are encouraged to apply.  This will be a full time role scheduled 32-40 hours per week with a flexible start date based on school timelines. 

What can you expect in this role?

At MCI, we are looking for highly motivated interns to assist our project managers and field supervisors with estimation and project coordination. 

Under the supervision of a Project Manager, responsibilities will include:

• Assist with estimating project costs and preparing related documentation


• Help coordinate subcontractors, materials, and project schedules


• Support quality control and project documentation efforts


• Observe and assist with field testing and inspections


• Collect and report project data to support the project team

Here’s what it takes to get started:

• Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines


• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, including Excel


• Strong written and verbal communication skills
