Internship Overview

Cable East is a leader in cable infrastructure and field operations. We're actively modernizing how we manage our vehicle and equipment fleet through the implementation of Fleetio, a digital fleet management platform. To support this initiative, we’re looking for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy intern who enjoys turning raw information into organized, usable systems—and who can help us bring others along for the ride through simple training tools and documentation.

We’re seeking a Fleet Operations & Data Intern to help implement Fleetio, focusing on data entry and cleanup, inventory system setup, and the creation of basic training videos and guides—preferably in both English and Spanish. This internship is perfect for a student in Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Analytics, Business Information Technology, or any program focused on information management and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & System Configuration

• Collect and organize vehicle, user, service, and asset data from various internal sources.
   
• Format and upload clean, structured data into Fleetio using spreadsheets or CSV imports.
   
• Assist in defining naming conventions and system workflows to keep records consistent and usable.

Training & Communication

• Create clear, simple training videos or step-by-step tutorials to teach field employees how to use Fleetio features like maintenance logs, inspections, and vehicle assignments.
   
• Develop bilingual content in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility across the team.
   
• Support pilot users during the onboarding process and gather feedback for improvement.
   

Inventory System Support

• Assist with the setup of Fleetio’s inventory management module (parts, tools, consumables).
   
• Help catalog and enter initial inventory records, including quantities, descriptions, and reorder points.
   
• Support labeling or tagging processes as needed to link physical assets to digital records.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business IT, Operations Management, or a related field.
   
• Strong organizational and data entry skills, with experience working in Excel.
   
• Interest in systems implementation or digital tools for business operations.
   
• Comfortable learning and using new software systems.
   
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred, or ability to create trainings in both languages
   
• Familiarity with video creation tools (e.g., Loom, Canva, Adobe Premiere, iMovie) a plus.
   
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
