INTERN: HR Coordinator/Onboarding Specialist

Fueling Success in this Role: 

VP Racing is seeking a paid HR Coordinator/Onboarding Specialist Intern that will work at both our Texas Plant location (Elmendorf, Texas).  AND our Texas Headquarters (San Antonio, Texas). This internship provides hands-on experience in HR operations, onboarding, and employee engagement. The intern will play a key role in streamlining new hire processes, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the onboarding experience for employees. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their HR skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and managing the onboarding process for new hires, including document collection, system setup, and orientation scheduling.
• Prepare and maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Support pre-employment activities such as background checks, employment verifications, and onboarding paperwork.
• Help develop and improve onboarding materials to enhance the new hire experience.
• Collaborate with managers and team leads to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including welcome programs and HR communications.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
• Perform additional HR administrative tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle confidential information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn HR systems.
• Passion for HR, onboarding, and employee engagement.
