Intern, Membership

Position Overview:

The internship will provide an opportunity to work directly with 1A’s Senior Manager of Membership playing a vital role in the administrative function of the Membership Team. The intern will provide support to include but not limited to data entry and maintenance in GrowthZone, account receivables, research, prospecting, and scheduling.

Responsibilities/Opportunities:

• Organization and clerical tasks


• Coordinating directly with members, including scheduling meetings and ribbon cuttings, reserving conference rooms, assembling printed materials, and customizing leave-behind material


• Offer overall program & administrative support to the Membership Team in recruitment, engagement, retention, and reinstatement efforts


• Tracking new and dropped members appropriately, including monitoring accounts receivable


• Day-of support for events & ribbon cuttings


• Generating qualified member leads and participating in meetings, sales calls, and follow-ups as needed


• Conduct research and outreach to prospective members


• Research best practices and programs to elevate the member experience


• Maintaining changes to member, investor, and partner contact information and notifying staff where appropriate


• Facilitate retention outreach efforts, including the assignment of New Member Mentors

 Evaluation Method:

• Short weekly meeting for feedback


• Mid performance review


• Final performance review

Requirements:

• Organization, planning, & time management skills


• Strong verbal & written communication skills


• The ability to multi-task


• Hardworking with a strong desire to learn


• Must know Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint)


• Experience in Customer Relations preferred


• Strong attention to detail, especially in maintaining accurate records & contact information
