## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPRIMARY FUNCTION: \n \nThis position is responsible for supporting profitable growth in the Power Distribution \u0026 Control Assemblies (PDCA) business at the Fayetteville facility through design development including new product introduction and cost out projects. Applicant to have technical knowledge to design / develop assemblies of complex mechanical and/or electrical design layouts, assemblies, test fixtures, including fabrication drawings, and/or schematic using computer-aided engineering systems. Support the inputs established by higher-level engineers \u0026 output repeatable/robust documentation for electrical motor control assemblies. This role is also to support lab tech functions (of Prototype building, testing, remote lab visits) and Designer/ Digitization efforts. Additive manufacturing (3D Printing) knowledge also beneficial.\n\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: \n\n * Work to standard procedures or written and oral instructions from supervisor/ Eng team, and to develop process improvements as needed.\n * Address and resolve issues that surface with little to no supervision.\n * Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects / assignments / duties. Ability to travel to support product testing, these are typically multiple week long events.\n * Ability to read electrical Schemes, and also sketch new ones as needed.\n * Demonstrate digital awareness to Additive manufacturing, Communication protocols, Testing/ simulation and Intelligent architecture schemes.\n * Ability to assemble troubleshoot samples for evaluations (Marketing prototypes, test samples)\n * Demonstrate an advanced level of product knowledge, assembly \u0026 fabrication methods.\n * Beneficial to be able to generate BOM\u2019s to create new assemblies within Autodesk Inventor/ ACAD, Proficient use of Document Management Systems (Enovia)\n * Able to collaborate on toolsets such as: 8-D, cost reduction, greenbelt, safety reviews, JSA, etc\n * Recognized as a technical resource by peers and others looking to them to solve problems and find solutions. Strong organizational skills. Provide technical assistance to engineering / manufacturing groups for implementation efforts.\n * Capable of successfully managing complex projects to a timeline and following Eaton\u0027s PROLaunch process. Lead Lab actions as needed (including Training and calibrations)\n * Support and coordinate generation of Lab testing process routines and test fixtures.\n * Support Lab Tech with similar tasks of Proto / concept build, unit wiring/troubleshooting, Lab testing, and Remote Lab support for developmental validation.\n * Perform other duties as required\n\n\n\n## Dimensions\n\n * Productivity: Number of Assemblies for NPI Build evaluated and tested\n * Quality: Data capture and metric usages\n * PROLaunch Scorecard Metrics: OTP to Target Dates\n * Cycle Time: Concept Design to Production Drawing Release and Production Launch\n * Design Related Cost of Nonconformance\n * EBE, EQS, and MESH Scores\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n * Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree program within engineering from an accredited institution \n * No relocation is being offered for this position. Must be within 50 miles of Fayetteville, NC to be considered. \n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Testing methodologies and data capture strongly preferred.\n * The ability to interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings is also required. \n * Familiar with system networking, Advanced digital items, VFD\u2019s etc.\n * Certified QEW (Qualified Electric Work), broad range of test equipment usage: Hi-Pot/Dielectric, etc\n * Knowledgeable with 3D Design software Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Enovia, MS Office \n * Control assembly construction/build and testing abilities.\n * FEA Simulations abilities preferred.\n * Knowledgeable in Six Sigma tool usage for Design and Development is preferred (i.e. certified Green Belt, or Black Belt in training). \n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\n * Experience in electrical assembly manufacturing with an understanding manufacturing / fabrication and testing process and able to utilize Electrical diagrams for troubleshooting\n * familiar with mechanical designs and packaging electromechanical or electronic components in sheet metal enclosures. Understanding and application of drafting standards and techniques.\n * Familiarity with parametric design techniques and performing statistical tolerance analyses utilizing Autodesk Inventor assembly models. \n * Strong communication and presentation skills \u2013 both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management, etc.\n * Capable of working in a high-performance culture environment with NPI team collaboration.\n\n\n\n## Additional Information:\n\nQuality Systems / Corporate Programs:\n\nEnsure compliance where applicable with systems and /or programs such as, but not limited to ISO 9000-2000, ISO 14001, Underwriters Laboratory, NEMA, etc\u2026Participate in and demonstrate understanding of other programs such as Eaton Business System (EBS), Management of Environmental, Safety, \u0026 Health (MESH), Eaton Quality System (EQS).\n\nHealth and Safety Responsibilities: \n1\\.
