Intern, Public Policy & Government Relations

Perform research related to Medicare and Medicaid, and other topics related to healthcare such as drug pricing policy, health insurance, Affordable Care Act, Food & Drug Administration, taxes impacting pharmaceutical manufacturers, federal budget, etc., by reviewing laws, regulation, and third-party analyses written by health policy think tanks, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Support assessment of federal and state policy and regulatory landscape to ensure that Alnylam is aware and in front of emerging policy issues to enable the company to take advantage of opportunities and mitigate possible threats. Support PPGR team in preparing basic PowerPoint slides on Medicare, Medicaid, and other relevant healthcare topics with relevance to Alnylam as needed. Support PPGR team with basic Excel analysis on a range of relevant topics (e.g., analysis of Congressional interactions) as needed. Develop and enhance research, analysis, and communication skills to connect public policy and business impact Interest in healthcare policy and biotechnology Ability to research a wide range of healthcare topics in a timely fashion and prepare concise summaries of key findings. Strong PowerPoint and research skills; Excel skills a plus. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple issues and tasks and meet tight deadlines.
