  • Revenue Management (RM) is the practice of applying data and analytics to predict demand and adjust pricing to maximize revenue from American’s inventory. RM is the art and science of “selling the right product to the right customer at the right pat the right time”. To create a total journey proposition for our customers, all commercial programs, pricing, and optimization within Revenue Management.

  • This department is comprised of the following teams:

    • Pricing & Yield Management: Responsible for applying data and analytics to create and communicate commercial strategies that lead to optimal revenue performance.

    • Revenue Engineering: Responsible for the design, development, automation, and continuous improvement of the systems and models and tools that power the pricing, inventory, and ancillary systems.

    • Loyalty and Travel Rewards: Responsible for designing and managing the AAdvantage® program, the world’s first and largest travel rewards program, as well as analyzing customer data to provide rich customer insights for the larger organization. Responsible for strategy, design, and execution of sales programs that drive customer behavior and incremental profitability. 



What you'll do


  • Maximize revenue for a geographic region within American’s network; use advanced models and tools to forecast changes to the competitive environment and passenger demand

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the marketplace and pricing/yield strategies to drive a competitive advantage based on consumer buying behavior

  • Leverage a variety of reports and analyze changes in the competitive landscape to identify high-level trends and strategies to make evidence-based decisions based on quantitative analysis to drive revenue growth

  • Collaborate with commercial counterparts and develop a relationship with partner teams including Network Planning, Marketing, Sales, and Alliances to identify opportunities to improve revenue performance

  • Presents original analysis and strategies to senior leadership, design departmental business processes, analyze the effects of fare and inventory changes on market performance, and work on ad hoc projects related to the airline’s strategic goals 

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience



  • Candidate should be in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Aviation Management, Data Science, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or any related field


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience



  • Candidate is in the process of obtaining a graduate degree in Economics, Aviation Management, Data Science, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or any related field.


Skills, Licenses & Certifications



  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Thorough understanding of the core economics that drive the airline industry with ability to translate regional trends into market-level actions

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to synthesize large quantities of data, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations Ability to use data to make evidence-based decisions, negotiate, influence others, and create consensus to achieve results

  • Presents original analysis and strategies to senior leadership, design departmental business processes, analyze the effects of fare and inventory changes on market performance, and work on ad hoc projects related to the airline’s strategic goals

  • Innovative thinker who discovers new ways to problem solve and comfortable taking calculated risks

  • Ability to accept and appreciate working in multi-cultural environment
