Intern, Stock Administration and Payroll Support

POSITION SUMMARY:

Mirum Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming the treatment of rare diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Investor Relations team for the Summer of 2025. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience during an exciting time for the company. The summer intern will get a chance to learn from the experienced functional team members who support our stock option administration and payroll accounting. This role is customer services oriented. The individual that we hire will have a strong work ethic.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process daily stock option exercises, equity awards, vesting, and release of restricted stock units ensuring timely and accurate tax withholding.


• Assist with the processing and maintenance of stock option grants, including verification of employee eligibility and preparation of grant documents.


• Report W-2 income from stock exercises and dispositions to payroll provider.


• Support the administration of Company’s international equity program and employee stock purchase plans, processing transactions in compliance with governing stock plan documents and internal processes, including monitoring ESPP limits and ensuring timely estimated tax deposits.


• Responsible for supervised processing of semi-monthly payroll in a multi-state and multi-country environment (USA and Canada)


• Accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, leave of absence, pay rate changes and quarterly bonuses.


• Prepare monthly journal entries for payroll and equity transactions


• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns


• Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisors, potentially including research, data entry, or administrative support.


• Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Opportunity:

• Paid summer internship


• Be authorized to work in the United States


• Be able to complete a 5-6 consecutive week (40 hours/week) internship


• Be able to work at the Foster City, CA site for the duration of the internship

Education/Experience:

• Must be enrolled in a full-time graduate program in accounting and finance, graduating in the summer of 2026


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel (intermediate/advanced)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be adaptable, a team player and an excellent communicator (both verbal and written).


• Ability to communicate with all levels and explain stock options, restricted stock units, deferred stock units, employee stock purchase plan, and other equity programs.


• Must have the ability to work independently to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.


• Demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and seek supervisory guidance when appropriate.


• Requires an extremely high degree of accuracy with priority on quality deliverables.


• Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively.


• Requires strong analytical skills and self-driven initiative.
