Intern - Stormwater NPDES

HB NEXT is looking for an Environmental Compliance Intern (paid) to join our Environmental Services team in the Wilmington, NC area. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental compliance within the construction industry and is ideal for students who enjoy working outdoors, solving real-world problems, and learning directly from industry professionals.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with stormwater and NPDES inspections on active construction sites

• Observe and support SWPPP compliance activities

• Document site conditions and assist with inspection reports using HB NEXT technology

• Work with construction teams to help maintain environmental compliance

• Travel to construction sites in the Wilmington area

What We’re Looking For

• Students pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

• Interest in environmental compliance, construction, or field-based work

• Strong attention to detail and communication skills

• Reliable transportation to travel to job sites
