In-Vivo BioPharma Services Intern

Summary

Elephas is a Madison, WI based biotechnology start-up company working to build an instrument and assay platform that will inform how clinicians treat cancer patients around the world. We are seeking a highly motivated In-Vivo BioPharma Services Intern to join our team. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have a passion for science and a commitment to team success. The candidate will provide routine support for a busy, biological research laboratory under the guidance of the Research Coordinators and Director of Lab Services. This is a great opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a growing company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in maintaining the highest standards of care and welfare in an in-vivo laboratory setting


• Perform general laboratory maintenance tasks


• Collect and aid in the preparation of biological samples


• Monitor environmental conditions and perform clinical observations in a vivarium


• Document activities in our laboratory information management system


• Communicate regularly and effectively with other Laboratory Staff


• Complete other tasks as needed to support the objectives of the laboratory

Education/Experience/Skills

• An undergraduate student working towards a degree in biology, animal sciences or similar


• Self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative.


• Computer proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Great time management and ability to handle multiple initiatives and changing priorities


• Detail-oriented and comfortable performing routine, repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy


• Prior vivarium experience preferred but not required
