Our IT Department, located in our Monmouth Junction, NJ headquarters, has an immediate need for a Part-Time, temporary, IT Intern. 

Flexible Hours: 10-30 hours per week

Duration: 1-3 months

Summary

The IT Internship is a short-term learning opportunity for early college students interested in technology and STEM. Interns will support day-to-day IT tasks, shadow experienced technicians, and observe how IT enables business and scientific operations in a small pharmaceutical setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Primary duties/responsibilities

• Shadow the IT Service Desk team to learn about user support and technical issue resolution.
• Assist with hardware setup (monitors, docking stations, basic peripherals).
• Support IT staff with organizing inventory, labeling equipment, and cable management.
• Observe user onboarding (creating accounts, assigning devices).
• Learn how the ticketing system works and track issue resolution progress.
• Participate in lab/engineering walkthroughs to see IT's role in other departments.

Education & Experience:

• Must be entering senior year of High School or early college student
• Understand the basics of IT support in a business setting.
• Interest in technology, computers, or STEM.
• Reliable, organized, and able to follow basic instructions.
• Willingness to ask questions and take initiative to learn.
• Basic familiarity with Windows or common office tech (e.g., printers, headsets).

Preferred: 

• Some experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Exposure to basic IT troubleshooting (school tech club, home experience, etc.).
• Comfortable with typing, using a mouse/keyboard, and web research.

Soft Skills:

• A genuine passion and interest in IT support and its real-world applications. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas and findings. 
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. 
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and eager to learn new technologies in a dynamic environment.
