About the Role

We are currently seeking to fill contract or co-op positions in the geotechnical materials testing department. The position will primarily consist of completing field testing and engineering reviews for our projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

You will be responsible for attending construction sites, liaising with contractors and field engineers, completing engineering reviews and/or testing pertaining to geotechnical work being performed onsite, providing site instructions to relevant personnel, and completing reports summarizing the results of your field reviews. The position will include working closely with the Company's engineering staff and management group.

Through the work term, the position will provide the successful candidate with an introduction to the Geotechnical Consulting business and the opportunity to develop their consultant-client and consultant-contractor relations skills.

Additional Details

The positions are for 4 or 8-month work terms beginning in May with the option to extend the contract longer if agreeable to both employee and employer.

In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate a self-motivated drive to complete their work to the highest standards.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes: 

1. Legally allowed to work in Canada full-time
2. Pursuing a degree in Geology or Civil, Geotechnical, and/or Environmental Engineering.
3. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
4. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
5. Skilled with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
6. Familiar with soil classification and physical soil tests.
