Position Job Title:       Land Acquisition Intern 
FLSA Status:               Hourly, Non-Exempt    
Job Location:              Irvine, Office 
Duration:                      6/2/25 – 7/25/25


Position Summary
The New Home Co. Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the dynamic field of New Home Sales and Land Acquisition. The Land Intern will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of land acquisition and apply those skills to specific tasks and projects.

During this internship, the Land Acquisition Intern will gain an understanding of the basic functions of land acquisition within the Southern California division by learning to generate a competitive market analysis, and understanding the stages between entitlement and model opening. This role provides valuable exposure to both the land acquisition and construction aspects of the business, allowing the intern to gain insight into how land acquisition integrates within the homebuilding industry.

Job Duties:      
  • General & Administrative Duties:
    • Assist in data entry, analysis, and reporting to support key business functions.
    • Participate in research projects, such as market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
    • Conduct research competing communities online and call to learn what incentives they are offering. 
       
  • Shadowing/Meeting Attendance:
    • Shadow key meetings and presentations.
    • Learn industry tools and software through hands on training.
       
  • Special Projects:
    • The Final Internship Project is a culminating experience for the intern to showcase the skills, knowledge, and insights they have gained throughout their internship. This project will be presented to supervisors and team members, serving as both a reflection of the intern's journey and a valuable overview of their contributions to the organization.

Position Qualifications
Education
  •   Currently enrolled in a collegiate program
Skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and follows tasks through to completion.
  • Able to manage time wisely and work within deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible, able to anticipate, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must be computer literate, with intermediate experience in Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a small team.

Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to hear, type and talk in addition to sitting 100% of the time. The primary work location is a corporate office with low to moderate noise levels.
