LAS Dean's Office Assistant and Marketing Intern

Position Summary

The LAS Dean's Office is seeking a student who is articulate, creative, outgoing, organized, motivated, and interested in joining our team to help with social media, marketing, and market research. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable doing online research and outreach, and eager to improve the face of LAS. This student will report to the Dean's Assistants.

Work Schedule

Flexible schedule, 10 hrs. maximum

Position Responsibilities

• Produce creative, trending content for social media 

• Special Projects: 

  • Conduct independent research

  • Compose summary reports

  • Make inquiries via phone and email 

  • Survey and collect information from staff and faculty 

• Greet visitors to the Dean's Suite 

• Exhibit initiative to work independently and collaboratively 

• Attend recruiting and community building events 

• Capture and edit videos and photos from events for social media and other marketing 

• Other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Student must be an LAS undergraduate student of Butler University. 

• Applicants must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Previous social media content creation experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office core products. 

• Ability to use creative and social media platforms (Adobe Express, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, X). 

• Graphic design and videography experience a plus.
