A Little Bit About the Position

Are you a detail-oriented legal mind with a passion for research and writing? Gemini Legal is looking for a Legal Intern to join our dynamic Legal team and contribute to the development of our Workers' Compensation Quick Reference Guide. This role offers the opportunity to sharpen your legal research and writing skills while collaborating directly with experienced attorneys to produce practical, high-quality legal content.

As a Legal Intern, you’ll play a vital part in verifying citations, monitoring changes in case law, editing for clarity, and ensuring our reference guide remains accurate and up to date. • Location: Rocklin, CA
• Duration: June 2 – August 1 (2 months) 
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm 
• Compensation: $19.23-$21.63/hour 
• Travel: Travel may be required for this position up to 10% of working hours 

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a JD degree (required).
• Experience in legal research and writing (through coursework or internships) preferred.
• Familiarity with Bluebook citation style preferred.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to synthesize complex legal concepts into clear and concise language.
• Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc.).
• Experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or Fastcase preferred.
• Experience working in an office or editorial setting preferred.
• Professional demeanor and respect for legal confidentiality.
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation, including, but not limited to:

• Sitting for at least one hour at a time (total: 6-8 hours/day).
• Keyboarding for extended periods of time (total: 6-8 hours/day).
• Using a phone with or without a headset for extended periods (total: 1-2 hours/day).
