Job Description - Map Design & UX Specialist (US)

Refine the Visual Future of Digital Maps – 100% Remote

Do you notice when an icon is off-center or a label is too small to read? Welo Data is seeking professional designers to help evaluate the aesthetic quality and accuracy of mobile map designs. You will play a key role in ensuring digital maps are not just functional, but beautiful and intuitive.

What You’ll Do
  • Aesthetic Audit: Rate the "polish" and readability of map layouts and visual elements.
  • Geospatial Check: Ensure location recommendations and framing make sense in the real world.
  • Technical Tagging: Use your design eye to flag issues like poor icon masking or font size errors.
  • Usability Review: Help improve how users interact with personalized map data.

  • Job Type: Freelance / Independent Contract
  • Location: Remote (Must be based in the U.S.)
  • Device Focus: iPhone / iOS Mobile Experience
  • Rate: $29/hour

Who You Are
  • Design Pro: You have a professional background in Visual Design, UI/UX, or Graphic Design.
  • Apple User: You are an active iPhone/iOS user.
  • Google Maps Regular: You have an active Gmail account with a history of using Google Maps.
  • Detail Obsessed: You can follow strict technical guidelines and spot tiny visual inconsistencies.
  • Critical Thinker: You understand spatial context and user intent.
