Job Description - Marketing Intern

Job Title: Marketing Intern
Reports To: Clinic Operations Manager
Department: Marketing


Position Summary:
The Marketing Intern is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the organization’s mission, services, and brand. As the one of the main marketing professionals in the organization, this role requires a versatile, hands-on individual who can independently manage all aspects of marketing, from content creation to analytics, while maintaining alignment with the organization’s goals.



Duties and Responsibilities:




  1. Marketing Strategy and Planning

    • Design and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to MCHC's needs and objectives, especially focused on patient care.

    • Conduct market research to identify trends, audience preferences, and growth opportunities.

    • Develop and maintain a content calendar to schedule campaigns and initiatives.



  2. Content Creation and Management

    • Create and manage marketing materials, including print and digital assets such as brochures, flyers, newsletters, social media posts, and website updates.

    • Write and edit content for blogs, press releases, email campaigns, and other communication channels.

    • Ensure consistency in brand voice and messaging across all platforms.



  3. Digital Marketing and Analytics

    • Oversee the organization’s website, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and regularly updated.

    • Plan and execute social media campaigns to engage audiences and drive traffic.

    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics for marketing activities, providing regular reports and insights to inform strategy.



  4. Event Coordination and Outreach

    • Support planning and promotion for organizational events, including advertising and collateral creation.

    • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to expand outreach efforts.



  5. Brand Management

    • Ensure all marketing activities align with the organization’s branding guidelines and values.

    • Maintain and update a library of branding assets, templates, and resources.



  6. Administrative Responsibilities

    • Manage the marketing budget, tracking expenses to ensure cost-effective initiatives.

    • Maintain records of marketing plans, campaigns, and performance data for future reference.

    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to inform marketing strategies.





Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Public Health, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and digital marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Google Analytics).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.

  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry and MCHC's mission as an FQHC Look-Alike is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. Ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically, racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities. 


Physical and Environmental Requirements:



  • Ability to work in an office environment with standard office equipment.

  • May require occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.

  • Occasional travel may be necessary for events or meetings.

  • Successful execution of marketing campaigns that meet defined goals.

  • Growth in audience engagement across digital and social media platforms.

  • Timely delivery of marketing materials and campaigns.

  • Effective management of the marketing budget.
